 The long queue that one sees at a doctor's clinic is a common scene that one is acquainted with. We are aware that this long queue is of people who are just like us seeking healthcare service from the doctor. They are patients who need the help of the doctor.
Waiting for the doctor is such a common part of the medical care service that the clinics are in fact built with a waiting room designed in such a manner that it can accommodate a large number of patients who can wait more and get treated less from the doctor. This is one of the issues that one faces in many clinics.
The doctors of course on their part are helpless in this matter. The long queue of patients is expected because they have been providing better services, responding to which they are more customers. In order to save the patients from waiting for the doctors, the system of securing appointment has been introduced.
But even for seeking the appointment one has to wait for many days before one really
gets it. In other words, there is a longer queue for seeking appointments as well. People are in the habit of waiting for the doctors either at the clinic or for their time of the appointment.
It may be difficult to find a solution for this problem, yet questions are rarely put up to find the reason behind all these queues and long waits. Is it because there are few doctors and more patients or is it because the long queues exist only with some doctors who are known to provide better services to patients.
In today's professional world, even medical care is marketed and promoted as a consumer service. It has become a highly competitive business to attract and treat more and more patients. In this scenario, the waiting part of the clinic should also be considered. Some larger clinics deal with this problem by appointment more number of doctors at different times so that the larger entry of patients is tackled from time to time.
But other doctors and clinics also need to consider the value of patients waiting for them to seek their consultation. There has to be some sort of time management in this regard where the doctors do not spend more than a specified time with a patient unless it is a necessity
The waiting part at a doctor's clinic forms an important element of the doctor reviews and doctor ratings. These doctor reviews and doctor ratings have become popular in the recent times especially due to the increased use of internet for understanding and commenting upon the healthcare services.
These doctor reviews and doctor ratings provide an opportunity for patients to give frank opinions about their experiences with the doctors. If the service has not been up to the mark, they can openly mention that and even give ratings to the doctor on this basis. Further, the waiting in the clinic room can be used a strong basis for reviewing and rating the doctor.
